Biotech Investment Program

The Biotechnology Investment Program is designed to provide non-MBA Ph.D. and professional students in the life sciences with exposure to the field of equity research and public company investment through direct mentorship and simulated portfolio management. The program offers a unique opportunity to learn from industry experts (from Perceptive, Woodline Partners, Jefferies, Goldman Sachs, BARDA/Department of Defense, etc) while applying that knowledge to a friendly team-based pitch competition using a market simulator. 

Advantages of our three-month long Biotechnology Investment Program

-  Learn about investment related to biotechnology/healthcare through workshops and student-driven “stock journal clubs” 

- Implement knowledge by managing a virtual fund in Marketwatch, a friendly team-based stock competition

-  Network with peers and industry leaders, 1:1 mentor meetings

-  Cash prize of $500 for top-performing team 

 

Qualifications:

  • Open to all Yale non-MBA graduate & professional students and Yale Postdoctoral Fellows (Limited slots will be made available to non-Yale applicants)

  • No background necessary

  • Students are expected to attend all the lectures & networking sessions

Date & Time: Late September- Early December

Format: Online sessions + pitch competition and in-person networking session

Deposit: A $30 deposit will be charged for students accepted to this program; this fee will be returned in full after completion of the program (please reach out if you need financial assistance).
